A badge on Kongregate is an earnable achievement. Players unlock badges by completing specific goals or milestones inside hosted browser games.

Difficulty Levels and Points

Badges come in four distinct difficulty tiers. Each tier awards a specific amount of site points that increase your overall user level:

Easy: 5 points
Medium: 15 points
Hard: 30 points
Impossible: 60 points

Key Features

Profile Display: Earned badges show up publicly on your user profile page for the community to see.
Badge of the Day: Kongregate selects one existing badge daily to award double points if earned before midnight Pacific time.
Permanent Record: Unlike time-limited challenges, regular badges do not expire once the game supports them.

Kongpanions

Kongpanions are original characters that players on Kongregate can collect by earning "badges of the day" each week. A single badge of the day during a calendar week earns the regular Kongpanion, while earning 5 badges of the day within a week will upgrade it to the "shiny" version of the character. While these are fun items to show off on your profile, we've also put together a simple API that allows games to find out what Kongpanions a player has collected and incorporate them within the game.
