Kongregate has teamed with Fox Interactive to bring Mike Judge’s ‘90s cult film to mobile devices in Office Space: Idle Profits. For anyone who’s ever suffered through “a case of the Mondays” or argued with a malfunctioning copy machine, Office Space: Idle Profits will let you tap tap tap your way to early retirement. The game is coming soon and will be available free for iOS & Android devices.
“We’re excited to return audiences to the cubicles of Initech,” said Rick Phillips, EVP of Fox Interactive. “The charm and wit of the film are just as relevant in today’s environment as it was when originally released in 1999, and we’re thrilled to be able to capture its eccentric cast of characters including Lumbergh, Michael Bolton, and Milton in a quirky and hilarious mobile game.”
In Office Space: Idle Profits, players will team up with Peter, Samir, and Michael Bolton to take down Initech with an ingenious computer virus that slowly siphons pennies from each department. Install the virus on each level of the building to increase your profits and get that much closer to retiring from the corporate grind to a life of luxury.
“We’re so pleased to be continuing our partnership with Fox,” said Emily Greer, president and co-founder of Kongregate. “Our first collaboration, the collectible card game Animation Throwdown: The Quest for Cards, was a big success and we hope to continue bringing popular film and television properties to the small screen in innovative mobile games. With Office Space: Idle Profits, I believe we’ve found the perfect blend between gameplay and IP integration. We’ll see if fans of the film agree!”
So get ready to JUMP to conclusions in Office Space: Idle Profits, coming soon to iOS & Android devices. Android players can pre-register for the game on Google Play today. They will receive notifications once the game is available to play.
